Compact Model RSS-236R with unitized |
Capacity13,000 - 20,000 lbs. Advantages
OptionReversing air cylinder kit with solenoid allows suspension to self-steer in forward and reverse modes, eliminating the need to lift or lock tie rod of axle when backing up. Compact Version
True and Accurate Steering by DesignPatented in 1991, the SURE-TRAC suspension system is (1) selectively controlled by the driver to raise and lower the axle and (2) automatically controlled to vary the pitch of the axle between a forward and rearward caster. In conventionally designed self-steering suspensions, one of the variable torque rods of the parallelogram linkage consists of a piston and cylinder assembly, however the piston and cylinder assembly is not as rigid as the torque rod it replaces. The fluctuation of the relative position of the piston and cylinder due to forces exerted on the vehicle causes a fluctuation in the pitch of the axle which can substantially negate the self-steering effect obtained by setting the axle at a forward or rearward pitch. By employing a piston and cylinder assembly separate from the variable length torque rod, the SURE-TRAC suspension diminishes the fluctuations that can occur in conventionally designed self-steers and therefore provides the true and accurate steering that actually extends tire life. |
